Retirement Poem #3

You’ve worked hard all your life
And retirement is finally here
Good Bye to deadlines, over time and rush hour
Honey...how about a cold beer…
What a great feeling that life has in store for us
It’s here and we’re finally free
No cares in the world, no worries mate
Lets go, its time to set sea
In the morning we’ll set sail
Where the weather is warm down yonder
Rum Drinks, wine and cigars on hand
Nothing to do and nothing to ponder
We’ll embark on life’s great journey
We’re in it together as one
We’ll toast to a sweet victory
to happiness, adventure and fun
Yeah… we’ll try our best not to no to lose it
We’ll forget to stay active and healthy
We’ll take our vitamins and fixed income
We’ll relax and pretend like we’re wealthy
Two pairs of oversized dark sunglasses
You’ll have yours and I’ll have mine
We’ll grow older with grace and elegance
Reminisce, laugh often and have a great time.
But the greatest blessing of all
Is that we’ve made it here together
Thank you for everything that you are to me
It’s what makes our love endure forever!
